Default change oil pump without pulling engine

I have a 1988 non turbo 5 speed supra and it used to be a buddy of mine and we rebuilt the engine but the owner didnt replace the oil pump during the rebuild. Now that the car is mine I'd like to do this right and replace the oil pump as well. So is this possible or do I need to pull the engine?

If you can manage to get the oil pan off the rest would be very do-able.If you unbolted the engine mounts and raised the engine that would be the only way.Not sure if that would give you enough clearance ,but that's about your only option to look into.

Nope totally wrong.

To remove the oil pan with the engine in place you must support the engine from above and remove the front suspension crossmember. There are 2 bolts near the rear and 4 nuts up front. You also must remove the sway bar end links. Unbolt the struts from the body. And then the obvious stuff like the exhaust front pipe and stiffener plates.

Look at the TSRM LU-5 to LU-12 if you don't believe me.
