Default MK III transition model, '87 to 88'?

I'm relatively new to the Supra scene, and got a question about a vehicle I'm considering buying and restoring. The VIN indicates that it's a 1988 (Nov, '87), but the data-plate on the firewall indicates an '87 for the powerplant. How much (if any) problem am I going to have with subtle differences between the two years, and where are they likely to show up during the restore?

Many thanks...
