ok, 6 is the stock level of spark plugs...and supra sports plugs are the same (wee, i compared part numbers, im a genius :-P) as the link you gave me, but are 15 bucks more expensive. thanks again!

yeah, i am saving for the headgasket job. maybe another month and ill have about a grand. but, i wont be able to do it myself, im not that good with engines yet and i DEFINITELY dont wanna mess anything up...my friend said shed get me a deal with her mechanic who fixes her eclipse. one of the packages on suprasport for the headgasket repair has a timing belt in the list...i dont really need that, just a headgasket and studs, right?

Timing belt and serpentine belt are 2 separate items.

Timing belt drives the cams. It's cogged.

Serpentine belt drives all of the accessories, like water pump, alternator, power steering pump, A/C.

Mk3's do not have a serpentine belt, they use individual v-belts. One for the water pump and alt. One for the power steering and one for the a/c. 3 in all.

You see that black cover that has that sticker with those letters 7M-GTE? Your timing belt is under that.

Timing belt is cheap but you should also replace the timing belt tensioner. That is $140 and is a dealer only item.
