What size fuel injectors?
Hi guys, I am currently in the process of swapping in a 7m-gte into my n/a 1968.5. I got me a lexus afm and was wondering what size of fuel injectors to go with. I was thinking of 680cc, but is that too big? Also I was wondering what a good clutch would be to go with. Ebay only has F1 and XTD. I was thinking a stage three with a six puck, is that a really harsh engagement? Any help would be great. Thanks

i have a a 7m-gte motor in my 88 and i ask some supra specials they own 1jz mkiii and 2jzmkiii so i believe wha they said and they told me just go with 550cc and a walbro 255 fuel pump it hsould b good unless u plan on pushign power like kwnate(600HP+ 7m) it all depends on how much hp u wanna push and as for hte clutch u could just be good off with a ACT street clutch if ur gunna drive it every day..correct me if im wrong tho

ive got a stage 3 xtd 6 puck, i recommend it if you drift and race alot and by alot i mean about every other day or every day because it engages so harsh. you have to bring it to about 1500 or 2000 rpms and drop it, when you let off slowly it shakes the car violently like the pressure plate isnt active all the way. but it does give some good griping

If you go larger then you need to have a way to control them, otherwise you'll flood the shit out of your motor. Stock turbo injectors are 440cc's and will support 400whp. Before we can answer your question we need to know what you want out of your car and what your budget is. Simply putting larger injectors in will do nothing for performance, unless you a)need them, b)can control them.
FWIW, I'm running 1000cc RC's now :) |
holy shit are u serious kwnate 1000cc injecters gdamn how much did that cost you and can it be a DD still and how much hp now..sry for alot of question buh i want to add power to it since my car lags so bad in both power and throttle

Fuel Injectors Revised
Well I am just running an upgraded ct-26 turbo that is rated for 19-20 psi of boost, however I am only looking to run at most 400 horse. Probably realistically in the 350 range. I am just not sure what size would be best, as to not limit my application. I thought about the 550cc then I read somewhere that the 680cc work better with the lexus afm. So yeah help me out. As to the clutch I would like it too still be streetable, would a stage III six puck be way to harsh?
Thanks for any help! |
