Targa Flex?
So i have been looking around and i have stumbled on "targa Flex" what is it and is it a real problem? Well i hope you guys can help.

Like most convertible type cars, unless you spend tons of money, they loose some of their rigidity and Toyota didn't sink as much money into the design to offset the twisting of the chassis when they did the sport roof model in 1987, thus when the roof is off, it is clearly noticable that there is much more flex in the body. In particular when you go over any bump such as a speedbump the windshield will wobble and the sideview mirrors will shake. It really is not that big of a deal, it's just something you have to accept if you are going to own a sport roof model. I have never heard of any stories where this has created a safety issue.

Will over time that flexing cause the car to be permenetly "bent"

I have never heard of any issues that affect the car whatsoever. It only affects the ride comfort...which again really is not big deal. I've read about other owners that don't like the flex and then choose not to take their roof off, but I think they are simply missing out not enjoying the open air. In fact I have had my roof off all day today.

Only time I've heard of a targa permanently bending a car is on a high HP car with the targa off under full throttle, twisted the body and now the targa doesn't fit anymore.
