Okay i have found the o2 sensor but i cant seem to get it off!! Does any one have any idea on how to losen those two bolts? the Bolts dont want to move at all.

I took off mine with a ratchet and a socket. Maybe you can try and apply some heat to it.

Well first off where does it plug into? Second i have broken some sockets trying to get it off!!! Third what size socket did you use and does the new o2 sensor come with bolts? Thanks

It plugs into a yellow connector near the cam sensor.
The 2 nuts holding it on are 12mm. O2 sensor does not use bolts. There are studs threaded into the O2 sensor housing (turbine elbow) and the O2 is held on by the 2 12mm nuts. And no, a new O2 does not come with any new hardware, just a new gasket. You better be careful taking those nuts off, if you snap the studs you will be up shits creek without a paddle. In other words, you will need to take the downpipe off and remove the turbine elbow and get a new one or have a shop remove the snapped studs. Try using a penetrating oil like PB or like he said use heat, a propane torch should do the trick. |

well i got one nut off but the other one is really stuck, maybe even stripped? What are my options?

There are a couple of options. The one that holds the most hope for you is try finding ANY size socket that "almost" fits on the stripped nut but is just barely too small. Then, hammer that bitch on there as hard as you can until it is jambed on the nut. You will ruin the nut and whatever socket you use, but its the only way you will be able to get the leverage to take it off.
But even that method doesn't work 100% of the time. So use this method at your own risk! Good luck. |

Dude, just follow the wire until you get to a big round yellow connector. You really can't miss it.
Unless.......Someone replaced the O2 sensor before and used a universal O2 sensor which requires you to splice it into your wiring harness therefore deleting your big round yellow connectors. I could post a pic but I worked all day on my pos and I'm too tired to go play photographer right now. |
