Small Block Chevy Supra
I am building a 1987 supra. I have made a 389 small block chevy stroker motor, I have a good shot of NOS into it too. Backed by a 700r4 tranny. I know the rear end will need to go, by itself or with my help. It's my first car, and I need a little help. I have most of the car taken apart and the motor in and out. Any tips on what to use for motor mounts, exhaust and shifter did anyone use the original A/C and P/S pulleys beacuse i made a effort of trying to save them. Any help would be Appreciated.

You have changed the playing field for the supra. You may find a chevy forum more helpfull because the lot of us here are not doing what you are doing. We rebuild our toyotas to keep them toyotas not some half breed. No disrespect mind you I have thought of the same thing. But you need a chevy forum.

The rearend from a supra will hold gobs of power. 592rwtq here and no signs of trouble. Just make sure you have an LSD and use good oil in there.

Personally I'm not a big fan of bastarding a supra
I had a friend ask me if a mustang 5.0 engine would fit in his mk3 I told him if he ever did that I will race him for slips I'm gonna make sure I win Then I would take his car to the yard so I can have it crushd and destroyed But good luck with your build bro |

You're prolly going to have to switch the entire drive train out, and its gonna require a rediculous amount of fabrication

ill rather burn my supra to the ground b4 i put a chevy engine in it but to each is his own, so go with what floats your boat |
I can see both sides of this because Chevy is making some outstanding crate engines. If the guy has the tools and the know how. F it.
I also agree with japanese muscle should stay that way. I wouldn't put a ford engine in a chevy..., maybe a jeep but as aforely stated. Whatever floats your boat. |

Yeah but if you like the body style of a import and the power of a V8 then why not buy a supra and put a 350 in it.

Someone should put a v8 out of an SC400 into an mk3. That would be original and still all yoda. Maybe with a eaton blower on it. Hmm.....something to consider.

This entire thread is Blasphemous and wrong on so many different levels.
Those of you that don't get it probably in all reality don't deserve your wheels because clearly there is a lack of respect for the make and model. Not to mention a twisted code of ethics and morals. Supra is a lifestyle people. Some of you get this. Because some of you have done what I have done and that is put waaaaaaaaay too much cash into these things to make them what people before us have already generally disrespected and neglected. You guys that bastardize shite are going to have a hard time being the most welcomed in any forum. The supra was doing things pre 1993 that porsche is just now really integrating. You have to respect how far advanced these cars were for the period in which they were released. It's bad enough ya put all you do into them to make them right just to end up with a car that is basically still worth only 3k. Atleast if you get it in the right circles someone will know what it is and will know what its worth. You start Frankenstiening crap and nobody wants it but you. And the first rule is you have to build what you want to drive. The 2nd rule is to maintain the Breed Standard. Sorry and Thanks.:gtfo: |
I'm bringing this one back from the dead Haha I have an 87 I put a crate 350 in with a th350 trans and now I just built a stroker, set the engine back and down a few more inches and I'm building the Turbo kit for it right now. If anyone needs any info about a SBC swap just shoot me an email @ LSXdoctor@gmail.com I have tons of pics
