My '87 Supra 7MGTE, Newbie Questions
Hello, I bought an '87 Supra - 7MGTE (auto) a little more than a year ago.
I've since then had a really nice new 4 coat / 2 clear paint job (original "maroon" with 11 grams of silver metallic) and now that it looks good need to do something with the engine. Great car for a few months, but then it started acting up ( O/D light flashing, rough shifting, lag like none other, over heating ,,,,,,,, etc...... something to do with the speedo and trip comp not working???) Well anyway I was wondering if a 2JZ-TT swap (or any newer turbo or twin turbo) is a possibility? Or am I better off sticking with the original? Either way I want a 5 or 6 speed.

 1987 Supra 7MGTE....New Paint (original G8730 + 10.8 gr. 895J Metallic... can't tell with the camera phone pic though!)I love my 1991 Geo Prizm these cars are the ultimate road warriors. Inherited a 1987 Honda Prelude AWS...either a work in progress or something to part out.
