My other car!

So my blue car is at Rrev Motorsports getting a few things done. So I'm left with nothing but time...

I bought this beauty awhile back and wasn't sure what to do. It obviously had a bad headgasket because its a 7m :icon_bigg So I tore it apart and put it back together!

Not a bad platform to work from.

So I fixed the HG so good it shouldn't ever blow on me again. Of course I went with a MHG. I'm not done yet but since it fired up today I'm jumping the gun a little. I'll update the thread as I wrap it up.

Here is where we stand

Nice work. Beautifull job.

That's also a pretty clean 7mge.

Thanks! That "was" a pretty clean 7mge :)

dannydavi 04-12-2007 07:02 AM

Looks Great! I'm jealous... :(

dcrusupra 04-12-2007 07:16 AM

Nate, why the hell would you swap out a perfectly good GE for a sewing machine? Lol. That's a very clean swap along with a very clean car. The next Supra I get is going to get a 1j in it. I can only hope it'll come out as clean as that. How was it lengthening the harness? Pain in the ass?

IHateHacks 04-12-2007 02:11 PM

I'm curious as how lengthening the harness went too. Thats a beautiful 1J. Is it auto or stick?

So what do you mean, you replaced the head gasket in the 7M or the 1JZ?

Thats an ultra clean engine bay you got there.

supramacist 04-12-2007 03:01 PM

I thought he was saying he changed it on the 7mge engine. I could be wrong though. That's just how it read to me.

IHateHacks 04-12-2007 03:07 PM

Yeah thats what it sounds like, but then he posts pics of a 1jz kinda throws me off.

I looked a little harder and I saw the clutch master cylinder so it must be stick, but what trans did you use W58 or R154?

Im an idiot I just read the mods, Spec Pressureplate w/ stock disc :stupid:

tone loc 04-12-2007 05:51 PM

that looks awesome! how did you do the harness? did you buy one off a american version or did you just extend it?

I didn't extend the harness, I drilled a hole under the speedo hole and ran it through the dash. I turned the ECU around and the harness reaches. I sent my body harness plugs from the 7m and the 1j engine harnesses to Driftmotion and they made a PnP harness for the body connectors.

I'm using a R-154 and a 3.73 lsd. The car was originally an auto without a LSD.

What I said about the headgasket was a joke, I fixed the HG problem (with the 7m) by getting rid of the 7m... My blue car with the 7m will soon be over 700rwhp. So if anyone can make that joke it would be me ;)

BC_GTE 04-12-2007 11:04 PM

Wow. Nice job, keep it up

Thanks, the clip cost me $2900 locally (because of the mines ecu). I probably have another $2000 into it to get it where it is. So $6900 including the price of the car. Its not finished of course, when are they ever...

It should be between 300 and 320whp with the mods, seat of the pants tells me its fast ;)

I don't see a 2j in my future, people put them in and then act as if their shit don't stink... Plus it never came in a mk3 so I'm not too interested. I was into mk3's before I even knew there was a mk4. I could have a pretty badass mk4, they just don't do it for me...

nice white on white the car looks like a sleeper..besides all the extra on the outside it looks like a stock supra. bet you smoked alot of cars already

dannydavi 04-18-2007 04:08 AM

i love that front bumper, mucho caliente!!

supramacist 04-18-2007 04:25 AM

I was thinking of having my stock mags just like yours..., powder coated white.

I'm going to have 8 grand in mine bu the time it's done with. And it's engine bay is nothing like yours'..., you must have stripped it and painted it YA???

I also thought of getting that hatch top spoiler as well but it's some serious cheese for what it is. So someday after it gets done at the body shop, maybe then.

I got the motor locally, you'll need motor mount adapters from BIC performance. The reason you want the front clip is because it comes with the harness, ecu, IC and piping and everything else you'll need to just swap over.

88Tsupra 04-20-2007 04:38 PM

oh thanx..i found an online site for 1799.00 for the front clip and motor but its in canada and the shippings prolly a btch..well time to start saving up for a 1j swap now..no life here i come
