Where's the power
 

I just did a JDM swap non turbo.Everything is hooked up.The motor idles and runs good.The check engine light is not on.I think it should have way more power than it has.It really doesn't start pulling good till 5,000 rpm's.Once it's there it's like a powerband kicks in WTF should the rpm's be that high before you feel the power? Anyone have a suggestion.

What is the base ignition timing set to?

That was my first thought.I checked it and it was @ 10 but the dist. is at a limit.I can't move it any more advance I would like to see how it runs @ 12-15 but the lockdown won't allow it.

Are you disabling the electronic advance when you are checking the ignition timing? Is the engine at full operating temperature when you are checking the ignition timing?

Sounds like you installed the distributor a 1 or 2 teeth off.
