radiator choice
my situation is that i have an 87 turbo and the radiator has sprung a leak. in searching for a replacement i found an nice aftermarket koyo and was wondering if it was worth the extra $200 for it. And within the next few years i plan to do engine and turbo work to it how much will the better radiator work? any help would be appreciated thank you

most aftermarket radiators are thicker, meaning they can hold more coolant, and the fins are bigger bigger meaning more surface area meanig better cooling. ok imagine a piece of ice in your hands. just holding it palm open it melts. now when you squeeze the ice, what happens? it melt quicker. thats because more surface of the ice is in contact with something of different temp. its not the best example, but its the best i could come up with
summary: bigger radiator means more coolant compacity and more contact with cooler air to help cool the extra coolant

so in the long run if i plan on building this car i am better off with an aftermarket radiator to get the most out of other components that i put on
