3-Piece Spoiler on my '87 ?
Has anyone taken a 3-piece spoiler and put it on their older MKIII?
It seems like it would be pretty simple, just drill some holes and whatever, but thought I'd check with you guys first... Any input much appreciated!

Yeah it's not so bad. Just find a way to mark the mounting holes exactly. What I did was put some clay on the points on the wing that get bolted down or need a hole to fit into...then laid it on my car just as if it were already mounted. Then I took a sharpie and marked the points that had clay marks and drilled em out. The hard part was the center wing because that has to sit perfectly in the center or else you'll get some rubbing action done to one of the side pieces. You will need to drill out the bottom of the hatch so that you can bolt the two side points of the center wing. Go to a Home Depot or Osh and get yourself a circle drill bit to cut big holes with. After all this hard work you'll really like the look of the wing on any year MKIII.

Yo, suav.
Not to be a nudge. But I would think twice about drilling holes in my hatch. There is a spoiler you can purchase that is a cross between a visor for the hatch and it adds length as a spoiler to the cieling of your ride. Again, just letting you know you have atleast 1 more option and we all know those aftermarket wings blow chunks. |

You'll want to make sure you seal up the holes after you've mounted the wing...dun want you get water damage in your trunk space.
