need help replacing u-joints
i just bought a car from another province and in order to pass the inspection i would need to replace the u-joints and if someone could help me with this then i would really appreciate it thanx in advance

Mine started making a click and squeek. I removed the driveline and dropped it off at the local driveline repair shop.
They replaced all the joints, and the center support bearing, then balanced it. $300 retail. Perhaps cheaper where you live. Now I have lube fittings on the joints, so once a year I can give it a squirt or 2.

I wouldn't suggest you change your own u joints if you have never done it.
I have done a few and they are always tricky. If you don't know the tricks. You could mess something up severely. SO I agree, pull the shaft and take it to a drive line shop. Or take the car and let them pull it. I also preferr spicer u joints but I don't know if you can get them for a supra. Good luck man. grease zerks are always a plus. Lube them up untill the seals pop with the grease. Your good. |
