clutch removal?

not sure how to take the clucth bolts off. i need to take them off to get the tranny off the engine right? tsrm says that you have to turn the crank pulley. how? the clucth turns when i try to unscrew it. thanks

you need a friend to counter the pulley turning
ot get a socket wrench (not sure how big the socket needed)
have it against so it wont spin when you try to take out the clutch

idk why you need to take out the clutch to take out the tranny
if i remember right, i put the clutch in the engine b4 i put the tranny

Supra2NR 05-04-2007 05:41 PM

yes you do,
thats one of the hardest i had to do since i barely had any light to see with
and putting it back in, is not much fun either

Remove the slave cylinder.
Pull out clutch fork from drivers side inspection hole.
Unbolt the bellhousing.
Seperate motor from tranny.
Remove pressure plate, clutch then the flywheel.

i just took off the clucth cover bolts w/o taking the fork out and that worked as well
