You might want to take a look at your ISC, it may just be too gummed up to operate properly at the higher duty cycle. There's no pot for adjusting the idle bump unless it's in the ECU.

You said the clutch comes on and off. Is the freon level proper (no bubbles in the site glass on the drier)?
Does the compressor (cycle) run until the vent temp gets down to about 45* before shutting off the compressor?? Then up to about 50* to turn it back on? Get a pocket temp gauge at the parts store and stick it in the center vents. I just leave mine in there all the time, as another functional gauge to keep an eye on a/c temp, and when the compressor cycles.
