Default Idle adjustment for A/C?

Hey folks. Is there an adjustment somewhere on my 88 Turbo / Auto / Targa, that will allow me to bump up the idle 2 or 300 RPM with the A/C running? I know there's gotta be somethin like my 4Runner that allows this. Can't find it in the TSRM.

Also, I need the small fans and bracketry for behind the radiator. See my post in the "parts wanted" section.

Thanks,
Staceman

I don't know of any way to control the bump, but I believe pin 11 on the A/C Amplifier circuit is where the ECU is supposed to get it's signal that the A/C is on so that it'll bump the idle up. Look here: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...=Main&Page=143

That part is working, but the idle "surges" while stopped with foot on the brake. A/C kicks on-n-off. There's a little potentiometer somewhere on other Toyotas of the same vintage, just can't find it with the TSRM.

You might want to take a look at your ISC, it may just be too gummed up to operate properly at the higher duty cycle. There's no pot for adjusting the idle bump unless it's in the ECU.

Wink

You said the clutch comes on and off. Is the freon level proper (no bubbles in the site glass on the drier)?

Does the compressor (cycle) run until the vent temp gets down to about 45* before shutting off the compressor?? Then up to about 50* to turn it back on?

Get a pocket temp gauge at the parts store and stick it in the center vents. I just leave mine in there all the time, as another functional gauge to keep an eye on a/c temp, and when the compressor cycles.
