no mileage and rich
all codes are gone know but my 88t is running very rich and wont pass emissions and all wires all plugs and tps, o2 sensor air fliter and mass airflow meter are good any ideas will be helpful

How do you know the O2 sensor is good?
Have you checked the ECT sensor with an ohm meter? A faulty ECT sensor will cause a horribly rich condition. Just because a sensor is not throwing a code doesn't mean its not faulty. What is your base ignition timing set to? |
well i checked my timing and it was off from a faulty tps but now i just ran a compression test and every cyl is over 155psi but no.2 is at 81 psi so head is coming off and also my coolant is always to high on pressure so i think that the head gasket is cracked at a coolant jacket, the coolant wasn't just a hot coolant smell, but with a possible fuel smell from exhaust

you should check ignition timing as well.... "big hands" might have gotten under it and f*ed something up
10* btdc is normal. you have to cross the t1 and e1 wires or some stupid crap to check it with the timing light/tach also you'd need a lab scope to make sure the 02 isn't faulty. a multimeter doesn't take samples fast enough. find something with more than 1million samples a asecond. shitty exhaust gaskets will also cause lots of problems. |
well i had a no.2 cylinder at 81 psi on a compression check and my coolant was always over flowing after boost and i just got my head off and found a hole in between no.1 and no.2 cylinders where my cooling system was being over pressured but the main richness problem hopefuly the low compression in no. 2 cylinder so after my hks head gasket and arp head bolts come in i will test the ox sensor to verify

hey man where is the ect sensor located at? and the specs for it
