Default Octane Booster

What sort of gas additives can one purchase to make their car go faster? Or are they mostly meant to just make the car run better?

Only to run better. But with certain mods, that bump up the HP, you may need some octane booster to allow you to run good on pump gas.

Race fuel is leaded.

uh.... I wouldn't run anything other than what's supposed to be working for your motor. octane booster isn't healthy for your car...

Not all race gas is leaded. I know of some 114 that is unleaded.

When I was stationed in the phillipines in the 80's we would run avgas 115/145 in our cars, the guy working in corrosion control would order 4 cases of naptha a week, keep one for use in painting the aircraft and use the other 3 to run in his car mixed with regular gas. I bet he had the cleanest valves around.
