okay i just got my 1988 supra turbo about 3 weeks ago, i have some questions that i might think be problems.
- it accelerates slow, but after it gets to about 30mph and the turbo kicks it accelerates pretty fast, but heres the thing, sometimes after i go on the freeway and go like 80 mph for a bit and get off, the accelerations seems to be fast? it's weird - this car is an automatic, but i can't really feel my gears change, like the rpm doesn't drop when the gear changes and you can feel the gear change in regular auto, is there something wrong with my car? - this has something to do with the above question. um after this one time i drove on the freeway for like 40 minutes, and got off, i could actually feel the gear changing and see the rpm drop a lil everytime it changed gear, wtf is going on haha - last but not least, about how many miles should i get on a full tank? thanks and btw to make me feel a little better, i got the car for 1100. =] i think that's an okay price thanks |

First I would start with a visual inspection under the hood, look over everything, vacuum lines, wiring, andything dirty clean it up. Look for anything that don't look right, and then if everything appears to be kosher i would go ahead and see if i could pull some codes from her. You could also maybe do a transmission oil pressure test. Another option since its a automatic, maybe something to do with torque converter. But start with the most obvious and do a visual inspection of everything.

if im not mistaken, autos take a bit longer for the boost to kick in. your tranny may take a crap pretty soon. suprragirl is experienced on the auto, you may want to pm her.
