Default Foglight question

I have a 1986.5 supra and every time i go to the auto parts store they try to sell me the bulb for the fog light but i'm 90% sure that i need the entire unit not just the bulb. Can anyone tell me what I need?

If you have the foglight itself, then don't replace it. You can buy the bulbs seperately. I think they are H3 bulbs.... Don't quote me on that though. I removed the entire foglight housing to determine why mine weren't working, and after I took them apart I found out that the bulb in each one was bad. Disconnected it, went to AutoZone, got two new ones, put it back together and on my car, and *Voila* no problems.

The bulbs should be H3 with 55watts, I just changed a fog light that went bad last week so yeah. Its really easy to do, just unscrew the fog light unit, take the old bulb out and replace it with the new one.

when you turn your fog lights on and off do you hear a clicking noise? and the relay i think should be on the junction box near the fog light fuse it will be easier to see when you take off the interior trim covering, but im not sure though cause yours is a 88 and mine is 89, the relay might not even be the problem, could be a bad ground or loose connections. by the way yellow fog lights look pretty sexy on the mk3.

if you think that the HID is the problem try putting back the stock headlights and see if it works
