is the na cam shafts an upgrade for the turbocars or do they throw stuff out of wack?
The exhaust cam is the same. The intake cam is different and it gives you better high end power. On a higher HP engine it may be better to keep the 7M-GTE cams.
well i put a new head on and i found out that it was na of orgin but my car does not exceed 3k under boost and falls at the start of acel.
hes got that backwards. exhaust cams are the same, the intakes are different. the n/a has a high duration and on a turboed motor it shifts the power curve to the mid range.
Ah, yes. Thanks for the correction.
so that is why my car is running like sh**, so i should put my turbo cams in then that should fix the problem.
no, people do it all the time, problem is else where. so it started after the head swap? was the head serviced at all? how was the hg put on? what kind of hg is it?
If your cams are switched the car wont run.
why not???
he meant intake and exhaust switched, i think. i find it hard to believe someone could be that dumb though
well i switch the the cams to the gte cams and found that the timing was 180 out on the camshaft pos sensor yes i f'd up
it runs nice but angain it threw the famous 52 code and now i'm in middle of the knock sensor rewire and anyone know the pin out for the place ment of front knock sensor and the rear in the connector to the ecu?
They are clear wires in the middle connector on the ECU. Only clear wires out of the whole harness.
it be best if you rewire both of them at this time...this way you will save the headaches at a later time.....
well that depends on the year of your supra. on the 89- they are the clear ones on the outside of the big connector, i think its the big connector. on the 89+ its the clear ones in the middle.
