you don't need any speciality tools just a good ratchet set, i just did mine a few weeks ago and i had never done a brake job before.

are you sure you dont need any alan keys or anything like that to get the calipers off like alot of cars need. |
You don't have allen wrenches?
That's $8.00 I have needed them on other auto's myself but I have not done supra brakes yet either. Maybe some open faced wrenches and a socket set maybe some pliars. Nothing big on brakes unless you have an upgraded kit. |
you need ratchet and sockets... you also need something to compress the cylinder like channel locks or a C Clamp or something, thats it. very simple.

Front calipers on MK3's have 1 bolt holding them on, I'm pretty sure its 13mm. Not allen head. Rear calipers also have 1 bolt holding them on.
Its a pretty wierd set up, as far as the sliding pins are concerned. |
I love the way they're set up... so easy to to work on. I'm pretty sure it's a 12mm.

i changed them yesterday. your right they were really easy to change it was just figuring out how to get the calipers off that was a bitch. i ended up having to take a breakline bracket off so that i could rotate the calipers enough to get them off. i hope i did that right haha. but they work fine now thanks to all of you. |
Sometimes it seems intimidating to do things you aren't used to, especially if you haven't done them before.
Just have some confidence in your abilities dude. |
