lol ill translate that. our 7ms have a long stroke, makeing the rev limit low. a engine like that of, say a honda, has a short stroke, allowing a higher rpm range.
what he wants to do is make the stroke on the 7m shorter to allow a higher rmp range. this will comprimise torque, but i dont think it will hurt it that much as the 7m is a torq monster because of the long stroke. catching what im relaying? |
Now I follow you. Basicaly make the 7m have the output of a rotary. Very interesting ,I rather like that idea. Trade torque for horsepower and shift it way high. I think the 7M would be the perfect platform for that.

well i dont know what a shorter stroke will do to hp or the powerband. before i take on the task myself, i want to learn more about the 7m and get mine to a level im comfortable with.

now I think that you are onto the idea. the main reason that I came up with this is just because I have never heard of some one doin somethin like it before. and really who is 6oin6 to expect a supra NA to blow them away just like the turbo would, and not shit them selves when they just hear it continue to rev and never shift till its howlin like a banshe.

wow! sounds like a great project. no real info here just an fyi, ent tot he drags tonight, saw a tracker running, and doing great. so my curiosity piqued (yes a tracker...geo) i went to take a look, turns out he hac a dohc 350 nissan engine in it! Knew there had to be a catch! they are very strong engines, but very tight with little to NO margine for error. Just be careful, it would be a shame to overdo it just to end up with less than you had to begin with. just a thought.
