Brake Fluid Reservoir
I have a slight leak in one of the grommets/seals that connect the brake fluid reservoir to the cylinder body.
This means that I have to top up with brake fluid every now and then to bring it back up to the max level. Is this dangerous or just a bit annoying? The brakes themselves seem fine. Is it possible that the reservoir has just become a little loose and needs tightening? As I'm about to undertake a long journey it would be nice to know that the brakes won't suddenly fail and I won't end up in a crumpled Supra by the side of the road :nono: |
Most of the cars I have owned have had that problem. I just keep adding fluid because there are so many other problems I put ahead of rebuilding the brake booster. Just adding fluid is lazy/annoying ,but I would not call it "unsafe". As long as it's a slow enough leak that air isn't sneaking into the system on you ,it would be my opinion that you can put off the repair for a bit.

Thanks for that. That's put my mind at rest :)
I changed the rear brake pads a while ago (first time job for me) and thought I might have mucked something up.. Quote:
