angered at this point
So I had a shop (dealer) do a test for a BHG and they found nothing. I made sure they did a block test as well and they said when they test they do three different tests, bla bla bla. anyway, i'm still loosing coolant. Not overheating, no white smoke out the back, no smells, no milky oil. I have no clue where its going...

like supra said could just be a leak mines is doing the same check underneath the car or warm up the car and look for leaks that way theres some pressure dats how i found my massive life..it was the hose that connected to the manifold

I a similar problem when I first bought my supra. Turned out to be the radiator cap, the dealership I bought it from put the wrong cap on and my coolent got up and disappeared, though there was a fair bit of overheating involved with that while the car wasn't in motion.

^ DO NOT DO THAT! That stuff will make more problems and clog the heater core and that is not good. I seen another thread and someone used that stuff and it made problems for him. Just fix the problem and do not put a patch on it because it will come back later if not done right.

Check the piping on the back of the block, one side has the heater hose and the other is plugged with a little rubber nipple and clamp. I had a slow leak that finally showed up when the plug finally blew, then I finally saw it as I was pouring water in the rad on the side of the road!
Chances are the water thats leaking out is evaporating on the back of the block or dripping down the transmission. You should be able to see some old staining there if thats where its leaking from. You can stick your hand back there when its cold and squeeze the hose or plug and you should get your hand wet if thats where its leaking. The piping is designed for LHD and RHD due to locations of the heater valve on the firewall thats why one side has a plug. |
