1JZGTE Mods...
Hi folks, there are some good chances that I will be buying a 90 Supra(MT) equipped with the 1JZGTE motor and I am wondering what mods should I do first on that car... what are you suggesting me?

you can do the basic mods that every1 does..get a intake system 3inchdownpipe...and an3inchexhaust...i dont know if the 1jz has a elbow before the downpipe but if it does and the new downpipe doesnt get rid of it get a 3inch elbow that right there can make u happy for about 1 month den you can get a boost controller and amp the boost up and get a intercooler and bov if you want...but make sure your clutch is in good shape and everythign else too

Yeah make sure everything is tip top before you start modding. New timing belt, new fuel filter, new plugs and wires, new thermostat, coolant flush, tranny flush, diff flush, make sure the brakes and clutch are in proper working order with new fluid. Then like he said, 3" turbo back exhaust, open element air filter, BOV, fuel pump. Then it gets expensive like intercooler and turbos. Thats why I'm still using the stock intercooler and turbo. That shit aint cheap.
Maintain first, then modify. Kinda like "safety first!" |

I don't know, you tell me! I never saw 1JZ downpipes before, are there 2 downpipes 1 for each turbo or is there a weird Y looking thing with an O2 sensor in it that bolts to 1 downpipe? I've never seen an aftermarket downpipe for a 1JZ before either. I'm sure someone makes them.
Well from elbow to tip for my 7M I paid $1022 shipped to my front door, all stainless steel 3" no cats. |

About the exhaust...
I found a website where it has Tail pipe + main piping(I don't know up to where "main piping goes") here it is http://www.nengun.com/gp-sports/exas...exhaustbetween 446.74$ and 594.11$ !
Here I found a downpipe for it (they call it a front pipe) http://www.nengun.com/trust-greddy/mx-front-pipe it is 122.81$ I also found another one here but it doesn't say much... http://www.modyourcar.com.au/product...oducts_id=4565 and that's all i could find for now... If anyone sees anything please tell me! -GAB |

Exhaust...
So all I could find was a 3" down pipe for about 225$..... for the rest of the exhaust i guess it doesn't need to be one that is made especially for supras ?

Go with a test pipe and cat-back made for a MK3 supra. HKS and Blitz make nice 3" catbacks and BIC performance makes a 3.5" cat back, all of these are bolt on using the stock exhaust hangers. All 3 are around $600.

I have the HKS super dragger and it makes the horsepower go up a conciterable bit but it costs like 700. It has a nice low note and it isnt very abnoxious. Also I have put in a test pipe and gotten rid of my cat. The front pipe that you can get check ebay the have people that make them and also there are ones made from top manufacturers they aint cheap though. Also they are a bitch to put on that is why mine is still sitting because I havent had time to take all of the turbo manifold off to put it on. The reason for the complete removal is the turbos had studs sticking out of the exhaust and to get the y pipe out (which by the way is very restrictive and it gives you a nice horsepower boost just changing it out) you have to remove the front turbo because dont even think about taking out the back one I dread it. here is a greddy down pipe http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Gredd...QQcmdZViewItemand this is the one I have https://935motorsports.com/catalog/p...oducts_id=1018
you just got to look around and do some research.
