Default illinois supra owners

i was wondering if anyone around the rockford il area owns a supra. I just bought an 88 turbos supra and im havin problems with it overheating i changed the thermostat and thats not it, also the valve covers are leakin ive heard it would cost about 350 to fix this im new to these cars and im a little hesitant to work on it if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it

The valve covers are an easy fix.

Now the overheating combines with a few other symptoms could be bhg.
The more it overheats the more likely you will lose the propper seal.

my friend named josh lives at dixon,il and hes has an mk3 with a 2jz

is the value cover cracked if not just get new seals its really easy just unscrew it clean it off then apply the new seal warm the engine and let the seal warm up and fit in if it still over heats you got a BHG BLOW HEAD GASKET expic to spend about 1500 if you do it urself and if not 3k for a shop cuz its a TURBO they say

well i had a pressure test and of course i have a leaking head gasket. does anyone know of a good mechanic around the rockford area that can good do this work. i may possible be selling the car becasue i can not afford to have it repaired

I live in southern wisconsin and i just picked up a 90 turbo with a bhg. I should be fixing it in the next week or so. Maybe i could help you with yours when I get done
