thanks guys, mm well yea i was planing on getting some heat wrap to put over it. something weird happened today though. im driving and it was a pretty long distant drive. the coolant resivour usally overflows on trips like this but it didnt on this one. so on the way back i was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and then i noticed my engine temp was on H and almost in the red zone. so i quickly pulled off to the side checked it out. spit on the turbo and it wasnt running hot enough to sizzle the spit. but the valve covers where really hot. next i checked the coolant resiviour and it was full and looked like it was about to overflow, so i waited a little longer so i could take off the radiator cap, it was steaming when i took it off. lots of pressure but there was no coolant visible.
now i know i need to purge the coolant system cause it does the waterfall sound during warmups and after sitting at idle for a long time. but what do you guys think is going on here, mainly the overflowing of coolant. cause im getting tired of buying coolant to put in there almost every week.

Holy crap. Dude, I know it sounds very cliche but, you definately have a blown head gasket. When you said "the coolant resivour usally overflows on trips like this" that is a dead give away. I don't care if its 120 degrees out and you are redlining it, the overflow should never overflow unless you have combustion gases entering the radiator, period. You have the same symptoms that my car had but yours are alot more severe because you just keep driving it. All it took was for mine to overheat once and the overflow was overflowing and I got sick of it and tore the bitch down. Some days it will overheat and some days it won't right?
That pipe you used looks like a downpipe. Nice stock air box |

damn you i didnt want to hear that. how much you think it'll cost to get the head & block machined. HKS metal beaded/stopper? <right one to use. and how about thickness i noticed there is a couple of them.? and cant forget that ARP hardware.

and are you sure that it is the HG that is blown because i have a friend that had the same problem and it ended up just being the radiator cap. oil is black in color not milky, the exhaust is fine it doesnt feel slick, its not steaming at all. i mean overall the car seems good it just overflows coolant, and again when it was overheating the radiator cap wasnt steaming till i took it off.

ok so i have a freind that works at waltz and i had him test a buch of stuff.
pressure test = OK no leaks didnt go below 6/lbs of pressure it held block test = OK - didnt change colors radiator cap test = 10/lbs OK diagnostics = needs to be flushed air bubbles in the heater core does this sound still like a BHG? or do you think it is right, because i know it has bubbles in the heater core because its doing the waterfall sound he also mentioned that the coolant was at boiling point but that is probably because there is more water than coolant. didnt feel like spending a but load of money on coolant every week :O)
