well i did some searchese this is what i found

And cap off the vacuum ports that I highlighted in green. That’s all there is to it for a stock setup. ![]() as for the blocking off i was reading a little more on this, if i got this right the right red circle you want blocked off. but as for the right one you dont want to block off, the 2nd block off goes onto the intake plenum heres a pic of that ![]() 7mge removal of charcoal canister and EGR ![]() Same thing as before. Red are the vacuum lines you can remove and the green is the places to cap. And the blue dots are pieces that you can remove. this type of things makes me glad i took my egr b4 i put the engine back,
cuz its pretty hard to get tools back there or maybe im jus clumsy like that

Thanks a lot guys i'm definately capping those when i put my head back on. The visual was a big help. I was lucky i had a jdm engine with the block off plates sitting around that i could "borrow". I agree egr worst idea ever.

Don't ditch the charcoal canister, if anything replace it with a smaller one from a newer vehicle. It gives the gas that would other evaporate out of your tank somewhere to go until it can be used by the engine.
As for the EGR removal, if you're doing for looks, fine. But it also helps reduce your combustion temps and has been proven on the dyno to make no noticeable performance difference whatsoever. |

It is on the thermostat housing it has two vacuum fittings coming off of it

The bvsv is part of the charcoal canister's system (evaporative emmissions control). You don't need to remove that or the charcoal canister unless you like gasoline vapor in you engine bay or just evaporating out of your tank. Dunno about you, but i'm dead set on burning every 10th of a cent worth of gas I buy these days... a few years ago I may have felt differently.

Sounds like a bunch of people have no idea how the EGR works or what it actually does.
![]() Cre is correct, it serves a valid purpose and does not adversely effect performance in any meaningful way. Unless of course you're relying on the data from your ass dyno. |
