I took mine off without any problems. The cable looked a little rough and I never use it either so I just took it off.

I had to remove it it just didnt fit with my 1JZ. That and who needs cruise on a hot rod. Just like the a/c on the motor if I can find a shorter belt I would remove the a/c compressor.

Just remember to cap the vacuum hose or get rid of the Tee fitting and run a straight hose to the heater valve.

why do u need a shorter belt?
is it one whole belt on the 1j?

Just take a string and measure.

Go to your local parts house and order that length.

You can run a 4 foot hose through the firewall and plug it with your finger if you want, j/k.
Just run a single hose which you should do anyway if its coming out permanently.

Yes the 1JZ is a single belt just the same as the 2JZ actually the same length too. I did that yesterday need to find the part number and post it on here that way everyone that wants to can do the same.
