no spark possiable causes?
my mkiii turbo died a few weeks ago. i had it running about 90% good and then it shut down.
i have no spark, anyone know of anything that usually goes on this car or what should i check. thanks the weekends are the only time i get to work on this because of school/work.... i have battery voltage going to the coils. weird and coils have .8 ohms resistance so they are good. the wires are good.
when i check the pig tails going to the coils one wire has battery voltage. should the other wire be ground. if i test that wire and battery ground i should beep on the meter because they should be grounded right. |

It really all depends on how old those wires are. If you take one of the wires off and point the spark plug end of it to a ground you should see a nice bright blue arc. If you dont see that then it is a good possibility they are bad. If you are not getting spark to the plugs then it is gonna be the coil or the wires or the plugs not much other than that cept like a crank sensor or something. But that part is just a magnet so if the coil is getting voltage take and check with your probes ground one and put the other in the number one coil pack if you dont get some real voltage besides battery voltage the I would look at the coil if you get high voltage there (because the coil ramps the voltage of battery power up) then ohm out the cables. They should be a max of 25k ohms if they are greater than that then they are bad that is straight from the TSRM. I have had 3 supras in my life a 84, 86.5, and a my 87 never seen a coil go bad the plugs wires go bad way before they will.
