Low coolant light
This morning on the way to work, my low coolant light was on. I checked the coolant and it is to the top of the radiator and is in my overflow, is the sensor unhooked or bad? Thanks for your help.

The sensor is actually in the overflow tank so if the overflow is not as full as it should be then you need to add some water to the over flow.

I havent looked at it yet, the level was just about at the min line. Thanks

It is on an 87 N/A I filled up the overflow and it is still on anything else?

pull the plug it should go out mine did.

take it out and clean it. A visual should show that on the sensor there is a little donut that floats up and down which shuts the light on and off. If you can get that loosened back up it should be OK. It can get gummed up over time from nasty rusted water and should be flushed when you flush the radiator.

thanks again, im selling it and buying a 91 turbo targa with a leaking head gasket on saturday so im really excited.
