Hi all, I was wondering if anyone out there just stuck a turbo on a NA and ran it so see what happens. Because there is a local shop that has a 87' NA with a turbo engine in it and they didnt change the ECU and wiring harness so they have a box of turbo stuff, that incudes turbo, headers, and a bunch of misc parts, for $200. Even if anyone hasnt put a turbo on a NA, is a box of misc Supra turbo stuff worth it for $200? Thanks!

Well I know of all what is needed, I've done a lot of research on this subject, and not just with Supra turbo apps, but I guess a better question would be could the NA ECU adapt to a very slight turbo app.? Thanks for the imput though! Also I have a metal HG on it and its a JDM, so the only thing I could think of is some forged pistons and rods, and sturdier head bolts.

if you turbo a n/a you will need the turbo ecu or your car will run like pooh. or could get a a/f controller
also many people boost on 7m's (upgradedsupra's sig = BOOST ONLY! 814.62 RWHP@32psi 690 RWTQ )

Yea I knew that it wouldnt run too great strait up, but I was wondering if anyone had done it before with no turbo ECU, and low boost. I'm going to try it anyway and see what happens. If I did get a A/F controller what engine would I get it for, turbo or NA? Thanks.

Well, I dont know if he would have to get a new ecu i would think the old one would work... they turbo charge civics and they have to use the original ecu, if you can program the original ecu it should work.

the turboed civics ecu depends if they did a swap or kept the d16. if they did a b-series swap they need a b-series ecu, a k-series swap they need a k-series ecu.
the fuel maps are different for the supra n/a and supra turbo. so at a specific rpm the cars recieve a different amount of fuel. THE NA ECU WONT WORK FOR THE TURBO WITHOUT A A/F CONTROLLER. if you wanna go blow up your fresh conversion go ahead... you will run lean like a bitsh and motor go boom as for the a/f controller, get the turbo one, it will be a turboed car right??? ninja edit 2: if you dont wanna listen to me, just go to a local shop and ask them
