Money to spend...upgrade path opinions. Put in your .02 cents!

hey guys. im new to the boards and potentially new to the supra community. i am prob gonna be trading my car for a red 91 mk3, 60k on an original n/a auto chasis with a jdm 7mgte turbo 5 spd swap. car is clean and nice. only mods are intake, hks hg, hks bc and a custom 3" turboback exhaust. car is running 10spi. i have about $1k mod money to burn right off the bat. i have done some research and consider myself a pretty knowledgeable and handy car person. all mods will be installed by me. now, here was my plan of action. all parts will be bought locally, used or through freinds so dont sweat the prices...

1. custom fmic intercooler setup.

the stock soft lines are giving out and causing boost leak. i can get an oem mitsu evo viii front mount for $50. alot of my friends use ebay hardpiping on their cars (sr20 240s, rx7s). is this stuff any good? i usually shy away from ebay parts but how bad can ic piping be?

2. HKS SSQ BOV

i can get one for $100. how good is the stock bov?

3. fuel system

need some advise on this. should i go 550's and an safc? can somone fill me in on the hks vpc rom and hks fcd? will i need i walbro in-tank?

4. suspension

i was thinking drop springs and maybe shocks...suggestions?

thanks alot guys. i know its alota newb stuff but any advise, opinions, experiences or suggestions would be nice...just put in your .02 cents

What you do really depends on your final goals and your budget at the moment. Here's where I'd start if I had the cash on hand:

MAFT Pro running speed/density and boost control (it's a fuel controller too), upgraded turbo or upgraded trim on the stocker, 550cc injectors (NOT Venoms!!!), Walbro fuel pump, suspension (this one really depends on your tastes and driving style).

So basically, with a ~4000$ budget you can do all that and run low 13s on the 1/4 mile?

im doing the plugs tomorrow (suggestions on gapping?). i wanna run 10-12 psi. should i do interccoler and piping or fuel next? i wanna do a lex afm and 550's. should i get a 255lph intank pump? will i need it? if so, what kind of tuning am i gonna have to do? any shared experiences are appreciated!

I haven't done it before but from what I read, changing the intercooler itself isn't important if you only want to boost up to 12psi. Go for it's piping and change your fuel pump, injectors and of course, a lexus afm or just a MAFT :)
