Well some of it is really hard to get to but it isnt hard to do. On the firewall inside the hood you will see where it exits on the other side under the dash there is a bolt holding a seal bushing around it when you remove the bolt you can remove the seal. Also there is a bunch of holding clamps that support it as it goes under the car. It is pretty easy if you look in the TSRM it will show the process. I had the same problem when I thought I damaged mine but sometimes if you try you can take the driver out of the end of the cable and try to fix it I did and it worked. It is always worth a try.
