1jzgte swap questions
 
I have an 89, and threw a rod in my 7mgte so I got a 1jzgte to swap in. It came with the motor, tranny, ecu, and a few other parts I can't think of right now. Wat other things will I need? Do I need new axels or a new drive shaft? I'm also planning on going to a single turbo set-up, where is the best place to get a kit for that? Also, if I'm mainly going for 20-80mph times wat would be a good turbo for that?- I still want a decent top end, but that is my main target area.

theres more that you need at the top of my head you need 1jz intercooler unless you have aftermarket, 2j throttle cable it you have a pre-89 you need crossmember and round 89+ motor mounts, a lot of 2jz part fits onto the 1jz ill try to post when i think of more things, im still saving up for the swap still not halfway

mines an 89, and i kno i have to lengthen the harness by like 18' but other than that idk, and im goin with an aftermarket FMIC

1jz's dont have a distributor.
it has an ignitor if thats the same thing

what about dumps or front pipe, the fuel lines and power steering lines are all different
(iam not sure about 7m's cause i had a 1g )
u need all the hydrolic lines plus reservoir for the hydrolic fan, or the hydrolic fan itself if u dont have one.
u need a map sensor as well

sorry about that being all over the place..
thats all i can think of at the moment

you can convert the hydro fan for a clutch fan by getting a 2jz water pump

its a exhaust manifold that is setup for the ct-26 turbo or the stock one that was on your 7mgt, might not get as much power from it as the twins but like i said it might save you some money.

Ok the mounts you got if post 89. You will need Downpipe, plugs for under the dash and the hood (there is three under the dash and 1 under the hood, electric fan, Fan controller (so much easier than finding all the stuff you need for the hydro fan), MAP, ignitor box, intercooler, piping for intercooler, intake pipe with filter housing, 2JZ power steering line with the two banjos get it at driftmotion, a really helpful vaccum diagram (I can help you out there), 1/2 inch hose for the heater hoses in the back of motor, better boost gauge, Maybe a tach depends mine stopped working, And KY to squeeze it in it is kind of a tight fit. As for your other questions you dont have to extend the harness drill a hole under your speedo cable and run it in and behind your heater core and the harness is long enough. As for the plugs under the dash you might have to go to the stealership or I think driftmotion makes a adapter pigtail for them. Also you will need a really long cable to go from your fuse box under the hood to the alternator because I am sure you have noticed it is on the other side now. For the Downpipe I would just go buy a HKS 3 inch because you get a y pipe and a down pipe and swap that out when it isnt in the car beleive me heed my warning.
