take off the center console, the shift boot with it

use two vice grip pliers
one on the lower part of the shifter
and one on the black part of the shifter

twist and apply force as needed
you got urself a short-shifter
best shifter on my opinion, CUZ ITS FREE

I was going to get the C's short shifter. It shortens the throw by a considerable amount and it keeps the shifter height almost stock. Also, I'm sure the bushings in your shifter seat are worn to hell, unless you replaced it.

Go to that site and get part numbers MC-10077 and MC-10078. It'll make your shifts MUCH tighter.

And that mod that 2NR is talking about doesn't actually shorten the throw. It just makes the shifter shorter.
