I Have Bought A Toyota supra Non turbo From 1987
I bought the car from te second owner ho had it over 10 years.
With NO BHG , i dont have that problem But the car has ran 170000Km on it.
And de Head gasket is never replaced.
Now i have to replace the timing belt I am giong to have it done at the local toyota shop. But can the test my Head gasket ?
Or do you think it is the best way to replace my head gasket because my timing belt must be replaced to.
I have the money To let it Be replaced (the Head Gasket)
Or Are the non turbo engine's Not so sensitive for Blown head gaskets ?

You can drive it until you start to have over heating problems. That might be a week, or 5 years. ???

Start replacing things like hoses, belts, plug wires etc, as you can.

The non turbo's are just as likely end up with bhg.

If it does go out. If I couldn't do the work, myself.
I would find a speed shop over the dealer.

I preferr things like ARP hardware that isn't available through the dealer.
Unless you show up with the parts.

Sounds like you just need some routine maintenance.
You'll know when she acts up.

Stick with the forum and you'll hopefully know all of the signs before it happens.

Some of these hg's made it. Just not too many.

The Problem here is that we havent got any speed shops in town
i can drive 2/3 hours before i've got a speed shop.
Here in the netherlands we don't got that many speeds shops.
I don't want to upgrade my supra it's fast enough for me :)
but my timing belt has te be replaced so i thought maby it is the best thing to do(replace my hg).

You could if nothing else have the shop check the torque on the head bolts and retorque them to about 70 foot pounds if the gasket tests good and find out what they were torqued at. If they are factory torque then its about 58 I think and are a known weak spot so have it checked.
