Cruise Control
1987 NA Manual. I had to pull my old motor because of a cracked block. I put a motor from japan, a 7mge with 30,000 miles, back in and now the cruise control doesn't work. Its hooked up and the vacuum is hooked up to it. It worked before but not now whats the problem any suggestions.

I would look again at the vacuum. Is the Vehicle speed sensor on the trans plugged in? Does your speedometer work?

I have switched the vacuum lines around to try to make it work and nothing, and the speedometer is working fine. Can the Cruise control just go out at anytime and is this normal, and whats the normal life span of the controller.

Are you using the USDM throttle cable linkage assembly? I don't recall the specifics, but there's something about the JDM assembly that doesn't work with the USDM Cruise Control.

I took off the throttle body out of the old motor and put it on the new one. The throttle cable wouldn't link up to the new one, so basically it has the same thottle body as the old one. Does the Cruise control have a certain vacuum line that your suppost to pull it from, the vacuum line on the new motor where different, it didnt have the EGR and some other thing that controls the EGR and some other stuff. so the vacuum ports not being used i pluged them off and used one of them to run the cruise control and the thing where coolant runs for the heater core. Ill post some picks if yall want me to of my engine and the vacuum lines.

The Cruise Control and heater Control valve both get vacuum from a nipple at the back of the upper intake's surge tank. Doesn't matter where you get the vacuum source from as long as it's not switched (such as a source from the throttle body).
