i heard from a mechanic mate that after he took the turbo off a diesel van and slapped it to an na supra he got brilliant gains and a lot more torque...why dont more people do this in very surprised that this is not a popular course especially for lazyness.....

It can be done. It has been done. The MAIN reason most people don't is......
The extra pressures in the combustion chambers on an engine that comes factory with 9.2:1 compression ratio (vs. 8.0:1 in turbo engine) will cause BHG quicker than it should. I suppose it may last a while if you keep the boost down to about 5psi.....but why spend all the time & $$$ for a not much faster motor. You really need larger injectors too.

Is it a good idea?
There's a diesel bus turbo laying around at the shop with a t4 flange, Its about the size of a gt45r turbo from a garrett, should I do it?
