at what rpms is it knocking? is it constantly from when you turn the car on?
|
starts at idle as soon as i start the car and i car hear it until like 2000 but i have loud exhaust so i dont no if it nocks above 2000
|
So getting under the hood and reving it with the throttle body never crossed your mind???
Brilliance in action man. |
me and my dad checked it out and its a sound in the vaules right in the middle so im going ot pull off that cam cover today and yea that the ist thing i did when i got home was open the hood in my drive way and rev it and listen
|
If it sounds like there is a little man in the engine tapping with a hammer, then its likely a valve lifter.
Do a compression check on all the cylinders to see if one cylinder is low. That will likely be the one with the noise. If it is a deeper sounding knock, then those are usually a rod bearing. |
if it is a value lifter how can i know for sure and how do i fix it what all will i have to take apart to fix it
|
Sorry dude but the way you type made me wonder if you had thought this through or not.I'll assume you are missing keys on your keyboard and follow that with:
my bad. One thing we can agree on for sure is your jap muscle comment. |
yea my keyboard sucks im on my dads laptop now but i was wondering what does it take to fix a bronken lifter
|
Well I'd answer that but it may just be bogus so I'll be quiet sinse I'm not absolutely positive.
