Wastegate stuck open

The current turbo on my supra produces boost and continuosly kicks it out the wastegate so i get nothing from it. Was told there is no way to fix it just need a new one.

So i decided to have my spare turbo rebuilt, which has too much play to it and makes noise when you turn it, i guess scrapping the turbo housing.

My question is, since i am already having it rebuilt i figured i may as well have them upgrade the internals in it. If i stick this upgraded turbo on my engine will i risk blowing my engine? Everything else is stock except for a K&N air intake

as long as you don't overboost, you should be all right.

if your having the turbo slightly modded, up to 10lbs should be safe!

If your going to upgrade and rebuild your turbo you can get a quality job from the guys at driftmotion although you might already know this. It would probally be around 610 for a rebuild and a turbo that can handle 20 lbs.

since i will be able to drop off turbo and pick it up while i am visiting my family in texas.... know anything about them? also did not see where on drift's site they do the rebuilds if u wanna post a link ;)
