Default Oil pressure guage not working

Any ideas? When i turn key to ON posistion before i start the car the oil pressure gauge needle jumps up like all the other needles and after i start it goes back down to 0 and sits there.

Any ideas on why it doesnt give me a read out?

Also anyone know of a company that will custom make a guage cluster for this car that i can drop in? Is there a way to change the mileage on a used one to match the mileage in my car?

I'm guessing it's the oil pressure sensor located on the engine itself. My gauge before didn't work at all and I thought maybe it was because of that. Changed it out, but I still didn't get any readings. After taking my dash out I noticed the gauge itself had mechanically broke. After changing it out with a working one from the junk yard I get normal readings now. My guess, the sensor is broken or disconnected.

Actually I fixed the old gauge by putting the needle back onto the spring...somehow it flipped off...but since I had a working replacement I figured just use that. I still got the old one as a back up. Changing out the oil pressure gauge from the gauge cluster isn't hard. Just take your time taking it apart piece by piece after removing it from the dash and look at where everything goes when you have to put it back together. Most of the screws are on the outer edge that you need to take off in order to get to the gauge itself. Trial and no error is how I did it. Plastic is kinda hard to glue back together nicely. As far as matching the odometer reading...that might be hard and also not really necessary. Just make a note of what mileage you have now and remember generally how much you add on with the new odometer.
