Quick Japan 7mge Q
I just put my japan motor in about 2 to 3 months ago im pretty sure the motor hasnt had the head gasket replaced and I havent had any problem with the motor, but I was wondering should i go ahead and replace the head gasket before it blows or torque the head down tighter. Or should I just wait till it blows then replace it, its just a matter of time till this happens. Right now the motor has about 40,000 miles on it. btw I have all the gaskets and arp stud bolts ready when it does blow

IMO...., if you are going to go down into the thing deep enough to retorque head bolts. You may as well take the head off and have it worked.
Other than that. Chances are a retorque will not buy you any time. Then again you have to figure how the engines condition figures into this. 3 months of driving. I think I would let it slide. Unless you want ARP studs and a new HKS MHG. |
