I had the same problem with my 86.5. When you try to start it does everything on the dash dim and does the buzzer kind of trail off or does everything just go dark. Also it may be your starter but I would check the easy stuff like battery terminals make sure they are clean and the connectors are tight. Then check to make sure the security isnt stuck on might be the starter cut off. Go out to your door and with your ignition key stick it in the door lock cylinder and turn it to unlock quite a few times then try to start the car. If that doesnt help check your fuses under the hood there is a fusable link that could be bad but you never know.

If its clicking its probly not the security system.
I assume youve already tried jumping it?
