Really High Idle

ok so my car idles at like 2500 RPMS. But when i put it into gear its fine and drives like normal? The clutch kinda feels funny maybe spongey? Also installed a BOV And reset the EFI by pulling the fuse. Any help would be great.

Any check engine codes?

Also did you start having the problem since you installed the bov?

ethan12510 10-10-2007 12:16 AM

the Check engine light isnt on or hasnt blinked so i dont think there are anycodes? I was told the pull the EFI Fuse to have to ECU learn a new Fuel Map or something. I recently bought a used AFM bc mine was going bad and i thought that i might have bought a bad AFM so i sawped the electronics to see if that was the cause and still the car idles at 2500 and will go up like im accelerating to 3000 but im not pushing the gas? I just disconected the battery to reset everything thinking that might help.

Check your codes anyways sometimes theyll get stored.

ethan12510 10-10-2007 12:34 AM

alright but what could be causing this? Any ideas?

redmaro 10-10-2007 12:39 AM

It could be a bunch of stuff, anywhere from a MAF sensor to a simple air leak.

ethan12510 10-10-2007 12:47 AM

u mean a vacume leak? Tommarow im going to look at it, i just need to know what to look for.
