Hitting fuel cut
Last night I shimmed my wastegate with 5 shimms on each side (aout 8mm). I went and test drove it and I hit fuel cut I really dont know how much boost i was getting since I dont have an aftermarket boost gauge.
So today i took 1 shimm of, so know it only has 4 shimms on each side of the waste gate. Im still hitting fuel cut but it does take a bit longer to hit it. Every time I hit fuel cut i get a check engine light, I pulled out the code and its code 34 which is turbo pressure also known as a boost leak. So is the code 34 im getting normal when hitting fuel cut? or do i have a boost leak?

Alright now I brought it down to 3 shimms per bolt on the wg. Im still hitting fuel cut.
A little history, a few days ago my car had a real bad missfire. So I took a look at the spark plugs the spark plugs are fouled. And to my surprise the spark plug wire number 6 was burnt at where it makes contact with the spark plug. So I cut the piece off and reconnected it, and my missfire problem was gone. So could it be my spark plugs causing the problem? Or the spark plug wire I fixed? But other than that no missfires at all and the car seems to be running pretty good. O and the spark plugs are fouled because of a rich lean problem I was having but I fixed that now. So what do you guys think? 2 shimms seems like nothing.

I found a huge boost leak, it was the lower coupler that holds my ic pipe to the turbo. Problem fixed. Thanks anyways

yeah old hoses do that, especially when more than stock boost. My car would stall and stumble when my boost leak happened but never got a code. Using shims I noticed that somedays i would get fuel cut and other days i wouldnt. Weather maybe??? Anyway I got a boost controller

Yeah I had a big boost leak at where the IC pipe connects to the turbo. Ive also heard that depending on the weather somedays youll hit fuel cut.
