top speed limiter removal?
 

is this possible and if so, how is it done. all responses appreciated.

On a US-spec Mkiv TT, it's easy. Just remove the traction control fuse.

On a euro-spec, I believe it's a little more difficult. From what I understand, you need to purchase a speed limiter removal 'black box' from HKS:
HKS Speed Limit Defencer (Type I)

alright. do u know about an australian model. a non-export one. (not limited to 180km/h, instead limited to 250km/h). would that be the same as the us-spec tt one?

Honestly not sure. US-spec limited to 155mph.

i'd say its the same as the us-spec one then. is there any reason why it is limited to 155mph / 250km/h anyway? maybe so it's harder to over rev / blow / damage the engine??? thnx anyway

I suspect it's related to insurance rates and/or import regulations...

also if your US MKIV is a NA, there is no sensor iir. the engine is the speed limiter ^^
