i had an NA before i did an engine swap. im new to this whole supra thing, but that was pretty much what the NA looked like

It's definitely turbo, and being a jz would say that it's twin turbo. You can tell by looking at the intake hoses. You have three, on the left you have one from filter to turbo, then turbo to intercooler and on the right you have intercooler to manifold. And in the middle if you didn't know is the engine I think.:rofl:

That in the middle is really the engine? No wonder I can't get mine to run right! :rofl:

MK4, 2jz-gte, twin turbo, 320 hp.

Well this engine is alittle more dressed up then the other picture (better parts and stuff) but in the other picture i dont see a turbo at all, id think you would if it was twin turbo this one looks like that have a single turbo conversion on it. I could be wrong i dont have an mk4 just a busted (bhg) mk3

Your pic doesn't work for me, but that might be the work firewall.

Most of the twin turbo engines are difficult to actually see the turbos beneath all the air lines and coolant lines and stuff. Look up pics of the 1jz-gte, and 2jz-gte, pictures of stock engines. The best way to know its a turbo is because of all that stuff on the side of the engine.

The aftermarket single turbos are much bigger and much simpler than the factory twin setup and therefore easier to figure out what is what.

I'm sure if you drove that car, you would know instantly it was a turbo version. Or if you are still unsure look for a factory boost gauge in the dash. Or check the engine code, the 't' in gte stands for turbo, its that way for all toyota engines. The 'g' means it is single head, double cam, belt driven with seperate belt sprockets for each cam. The 'e' means electronic fuel injection.

Just like a 22r is carbed, the 22re is fuel injected and the 22rte is turbo fuel injected.

after looking at my old engine pics i realized i was wrong, it is a turbo in your pic. my bad

It's a tt 100% for sure. I own one and I've taken dozens and dozens of them apart, and put them back together. Absolutely no question about it.

...now, whether or not those turbos are actually putting out boost is another story. :)

Oh, and it's got pretty goofy seat covers (imho).
