Default new to this place, wondering things on supra

hey all, im new and i have a few question on my supra that im about to buy which is a jdm supra rhd. my supra is non turbo but i prefer getting a single turbo after reading this forum but i am not sure if the 4th gen came out with single turbo, so i was thinking of a swap 1jzgtte or a 2jzgtte, they are both turbo tho right?? and they dont come with tranny so i was wondering if i was to buy a new engine could i use the same tranny from my old engine or would it be affected in some sort of ways.. i just want the single turbo hahah much help would be great and also i was wondering how much turbo costed because the engines dont come with the turbo kit or anything but im sure they are turbo. much help would be appreciated as i always wanted one of this car

4th gen did not come with single turbo - all are aftermarket upgrades.

Why swap 1jzgte for 2jzgte? I'm pretty sure your 4th gen n/a will come with a 2jzge and not a 1jzgte... The 2jzgte swap will cost you at least $4.5k (USD) in parts, and about 10 hours in (professional/experienced) labor. Note the $4.5k includes a new harness, ecu, and ignitor.

n/a trannies (manual and/or auto) are not as capable as their turbo tranny counterparts. This means they won't take as much horsepower before they fail.

Turbo kits are about $4K-$5K (USD) and about $1500 or so for labor to do the install.

NB: Please consider posting any help requests in a new thread instead of asking me for help privately. About 99.9+% of the time, private help requests end up covering great information that could be very valuable to other forum members. If you have a good reason for needing the help request to be private, I'll consider it. If not, then why not give everyone else the opportunity to pitch in too, and/or learn from the information? Remember, there's no such thing as a dumb question. We're all here to help within this family of Supra owners.
